The team

ITV Creative is the in-house agency for ITV, sitting within the Marketing function, responsible for delivering 360 campaigns to promote ITVX and ITV content, as well as the entire ITV brand portfolio.  

ITV Creative Commercial is a team of Campaign Managers, Creatives and Producers, plugged into our wider ITV Creative team, dedicated to bringing commercial brands into ITV’s world. We bring all of our ITV brand knowledge to commercial briefs, working hand-in-hand with our colleagues in ITV Commercial and in particular BE Studio, to help drive commercial success through the creative development and delivery of Branded Entertainment. We work with many of the UK’s biggest brands and their agencies to unlock creative opportunities and media-firsts across our network.

The role

The Campaign Management Lead is a senior role within our Creative Commercial team, responsible for not only managing the Campaign Management team to drive excellence in creative development and campaign delivery, but also overseeing the operational and strategic direction of the Creative Commercial team as a whole. You’ll work with a number of stakeholders across the business, as well as agencies and brands from across the media and advertising industry, to drive commercial revenue for ITV through the proposal and delivery of Branded Entertainment, driving our reputation as a destination for award-winning and effective commercial creative. 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an ambitious team that has grown from strength to strength in the last 6 years, producing high quality creative at scale for many of the UK’s biggest brands, whilst retaining an agile and collaborative approach. You’ll quickly build strong relationships based on leadership and trust, fostering an environment of collaboration and passionately driving the creative agenda whilst being the go-to escalation point for the team and all its stakeholders. We’re looking for an individual with extensive background in advertising, commercial or broadcast agency account / campaign management, to drive the team forward for the next 12 months.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Campaign Management team, providing excellence in creative client and stakeholder management
  • Managing all incoming briefs into ITV Creative Commercial, interrogating the briefs, assigning the best team and setting them up for success
  • Supporting the Creative Director on our response to briefs, pushing for more and going beyond the status quo
  • Being the escalation point for any issues relating to ITV Creative Commercial, with a view to resolving any creative conflict for the better of the work, relationships, our reputation and future opportunities
  • Working with ITV Creative Commercial and BE Studio to propose ideas and budgets that maximise revenue opportunities whilst balancing the quality of creative production
  • Developing and driving targets for the ITV Creative Commercial team that support our creative and commercial objectives
  • Upskilling the ITV Creative Commercial team on key priorities and objectives as well as wider ITV activity that could influence the work
  • Refining ways of working to drive greater profitability, efficiency and success across the development and production of creative campaigns
  • Fostering deep relationships across the whole of ITV in order to unlock opportunities for success
  • Championing ITV Creative & BE Studio’s creative credentials with external clients, agencies and stakeholders
  • Pushing for and championing potentially award-winning ideas in the pitch process and production

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Extensive experience working in an advertising account management role, or commercial or UK broadcast equivalent.
  • Solid experience managing a team of account managers or equivalent.
  • Proven experience helping to shape and deliver outstanding creative work from brief through to production.
  • Advanced knowledge of the TV advertising production process.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder groups and characters, balancing conflicting objectives with creative ambition.
  • Highly effective at managing upwards.
  • Solid understanding of the media, partnerships and advertising landscape, a strong interest in TV and an understanding of the current competitive landscape.
  • Effective communication skills - extensive experience writing decks, confidence presenting in-person and excellent written skills.
  • Experience managing the finances of an account or team, with some understanding of revenue and finance terminology.

  • Ability to assess incoming briefs, feedback and the needs of the team, with the confidence to push back where necessary.
  • Ability to galvanise a team of producers and creatives to get to the best work.
  • A collaborative, agile and adaptable approach, willing to bend ways of working to the needs of the project, team or stakeholder.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders.
  • Is perceptive and empathetic, able to read stakeholders and detect potential issues before they are raised, responding accordingly to get to the best outcome for the team.
  • Ability to understand the broader business perspective and identify the key people required to input / solve issues.
  • Ability to identify and drive process development in a continually evolving creative environment.
  • A positive outlook and inquisitive nature, always looking for the opportunity rather than the barrier, with a willingness to ask for help when needed.
