Are you looking to break into unscripted TV development?
We’re excited to offer 6 traineeships across our award winning unscripted labels based in London, Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol.
The role
With a 6-Month Fixed Term Contract, the successful Development Trainee will be placed in one of ITV Studios’ labels. Working in the fast-paced world of non-scripted development, you will play a key role in shaping new ideas to pitch to broadcasters and streamers by helping to prepare pitching assets including format documents and sizzles. Other duties may include assisting the teams on shoots and at run throughs and help with the day-to-day admin of a development team. Excellent editorial judgement, literary skills and an ability to spot exciting new ideas are essential.
What you’ll be doing
- Coming up with new ideas for TV Shows
- Attending brainstorms and contributing ideas.
- Contributing your own editorial opinion on TV formats
- Engaging with and promoting diversity in storytelling
- Help creating any format documents or other assets in order to sell the format.
- Co-ordinating and assembling notes from development, production and commissioners on the relevant projectsAssisting in the tracking of the companies’ slate and other day-to-day admin tasks.
- Providing detailed research into specific topicsPitching ideas to external companies

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- A strong ambition to pursue a career in non-scripted TV development
- A knowledge of and curiosity for the non-scripted TV landscape
- Excellent communication (particularly literary skills), attention to detail and organisational skills
- A passion for coming up with exciting new ideas (demonstrating excellent editorial judgement)

- Ability to create a well constructed TV format
- Ability to work collaboratively and brainstorm ideas effectively
- Ability to successfully pitch your ideas
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication (particularly literary skills), attention to detail and organisational skills
