This role sits within the Media & Entertainment division.  We are the largest commercial broadcaster and streamer in the UK, delivering unrivalled audience scale and reach via ITVX, our free advertiser-funded streaming service, and via our free-to-air linear TV channels.

The role…

As Finance Business Partner, Commercial, you will work as part of a team of 3, providing commercial finance leadership and support to ITV Commercial. It is ITV Commercial, who are responsible for bringing in the £2bn worth of advertising that helps fund ITV's programming, leading the transformation of our advertising tech estate, including Planet V, our intuitive self-serve addressable advertising platform, and looking for new opportunities to drive revenues.

You will be responsible for providing strategic finance business partnering to leaders within our Commercial team.  You will also lead on commercial finance support for our advertising tech transformation programme. 

This role collaborates with the broader Finance Community to deliver value to the business, seeking technical and specialist support from the Group Finance Operation, which encompasses the FP&A Centre of Excellence, and Global Finance Operations.

This role would suit an individual looking to develop their career in a commercial finance/ business partnering department with significant exposure to the business.

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

• Business partner in a pro active, commercially astute manner; develop expertise in TV advertising, trading models, and industry trends and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders 
• Explore and analyze data, extracting valuable insights to drive performance, support decision making, and uncover opportunities; assess financial performance and key metrics to support delivery of in-year targets and identify risks and opportunities
• Drive the evolution of management information and analysis; work with the business to ensure key metrics are relevant and insightful; work with tech teams to improve business intelligence and reporting tools
• Contribute to strategy through budgeting, forecasting, and business planning; monitor industry trends, and advise on resource allocation and trade-offs
• Deliver strategic cost management; understand and optimise cost drivers and review, challenge and prioritise investment cases with the Senior Finance Business Partner
• Drive process improvements and ensure accounting quality and control; delve into the root causes of problems, unlock efficiencies, and collaborate with the FP&A Centre of Excellence (who provide first line support on reporting, forecasting, and management accounts review)

 

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)...

• Commercially minded qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA) 
• Previous commercial finance experience in a large, fast paced, dynamic organisation
• Experience in contributing to the development of business strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis

• Action oriented; flexible and able to work outside a standard structure and framework
• A team player.  Someone who is open and who is able and willing to deliver beyond their personal brief
• Self motivated with a can do attitude and a desire to constantly learn and develop
