The role

The Solutions Architect is an experienced practitioner who provides deep domain expertise and is able to demonstrate expertise and experience in the systems and technologies behind asset management, content information management, rights and scheduling workflows, as well as video, audio, subtitle, technical and editorial metadata and audio description formats, application architectures, and technology transformation.

The role will entail but not be limited to:

• Analytical and problem solving skills, especially in the areas of complex legacy applications and systems
• Ability to communicate, rationalise and explain technology decisions and options to non-technical audiences, including how the architecture supports business objectives and workflows
• Aligning solutions within ITV’s architectural principles and gaining buy-in from technology and business stakeholders
• Ability to work across multiple product, operations and business user teams, incorporating wide ranging and sometimes conflicting objectives into a coherent to-be architecture
• Working with systems undergoing change, specifically to understand the detail of the as-is solution architecture, such that tranches of change can be delivered in a way that minimises operational and business impact
• Delivering architectures and designs in a collaborative and devolved way across multiple product teams, bringing leadership for the broad architecture, integration patterns and data domains whilst facilitating work with product teams on the details 

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• Ideally would have strong domain experience in developing solutions for media and entertainment systems with a focus on integrating in-house and third party software and hardware solutions
• A track record in defining and overseeing the implementation of systems within tight timescales
• Experience of both software and infrastructure based projects
• Strong experience of API design and rationale

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

• Media Supply chain transformation 
• Cloud IaaS/PaaS, compute, storage and networking designed for security and scale, with Infrastructure as Code configuration management
• Enterprise messaging systems e.g. rabbitMQ SQS,SMS, Kafka etc
• Confident to use initiative and make improvement suggestions
• Experience of working with SDVI Rally
• Experience of working with Fabric Studio
