ITV Studios Daytime creates over seven and a half hours of live TV every day. The Daytime slate is filled with Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. The Daytime market is highly competitive and vitally important for both ITV Studios and our network. Most of these programmes run 52 weeks a year and are critical to our share of viewing.

The Studio Technician will work as part of our live multi-camera studio team on a rotational basis. They will report into the Studio Managers and work across all four, live Daytime programmes.
This is a varied role as you will be assisting our Camera, Sound and Lighting teams with all technical aspects of the studio. This will include rigging of studio cameras and monitors, looking after cables during repositioning and hand held operations, managing and rigging microphones and foldback, focussing and repositioning of lights. We will also look to you to identify routine maintenance requirements and organising repairs and stock liaison with all the relevant staff.
A practical experience of working in a live studio environment is preferred, but not essential. The candidate should show keen enthusiasm for the industry, demonstrable through past experience, study or personal projects and knowledge of our shows. You must also have an awareness of relevant Health & Safety policies and practices.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn about all aspects of the technical elements that go into making live programmes. It’s essential applicants have a flexible and positive approach to work and exceptional team working skills. You will also have the ability to work under pressure, prioritise, problem solve, use your common sense/initiative and be a great communicator.

Please note this role involves an early start at 0400 for GMB, 0700 for Lorraine and Loose Women and 0730 for a This Morning shift.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Confident communication.
- Relevant knowledge of industry working practice (may have studied film, worked on other productions or an individual portfolio showing passion for film/tv).
- General studio health and safety awareness.
- Live studio output experience.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Knowledge of Sony cameras
- Knowledge of SMPTE Fiber cable set ups
- Knowledge of radio mics
- Knowledge of LED lighting
