An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ITV Breakfast team as a Trainee Make Up Artist, working across Good Morning Britain providing a broad mixture of content across current affairs, entertainment news and consumer issues and exclusive interviews with celebrities and the day’s news makers.

The role will be to provide hair and makeup for presenters, guests and contributors on the show or on location.  Work closely with Make-up Artists  in order to ensure the correct and appropriate ‘look’ of all guests/contributors. Basic set-up and maintenance of the make-up/hair workstations, keeping the workstations clean and tidy, laying out brushes and products for the day ahead, and ensuring that product levels are maintained

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Minimum of 1 years experience working in broadcast television and film. 
  • Completed BTEC Level 3 Makeup and Hair 2 year diploma Course
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good team player. 
  • Experience of hairdressing.
  • Creative and artistic flair essential
  • Experience keeping a clean, neat and tidy workspace.
  • Experience working in a studio and on location.


Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Ability to communicate with a range of contributors, maintaining complete discretion.
  • Ability to communicate well with the production team.
  • Responsible for making up (hair and make-up) and maintaining ‘look’ throughout filming.
  • Preparing appropriate make-up/wigs etc. Ensuring care and cleanliness of equipment/ wigs and hairpieces and any other make-up device required as per script.  
  • Ability to deal with presenters in a positive, sensitive manner.
  • Ability to work at speed and regularly touch up on the studio floor or on location.
